most things I worry ‘bout never happen anyway

  • Great question and the answer really depends on what you’re looking for! Much of therapy seeks to bring awareness to personal patterns and thought processes that lead to unwanted emotional outcomes. Bringing awareness to this qualities aims to begin the process of change and integrating new ways of engaging with your environment. Then again, for Exposure therapy work, the approach is more directive and based in a protocol-focused process. This is where a conversation prior to begin services is very helpful and we offer complimentary 15-minute consults to see if we are a good fit!

  • We typically seek weekly sessions to start to provide the time to build the therapeutic relationship (which is a very important aspect of therapy) and create the environment we desire for the most effective outcomes. However, if scheduling/availability makes ever other week or some variation of this necessary, this is not a problem. As for duration, this is a really depends on you and your goals. This could mean 5 sessions over a few weeks, or many sessions on 6-12 months. With exposure therapy for OCD, given this is more rooted in a protocol, we aim to complete around 20-24 sessions (ranging in time from 60-90 minutes) over the course of 2+ months.

Overall, this is another great question that we can go over in complimentary 15-minute consult!

  • Yes, this is something we can do to get a better sense of if we are the right “fit.” The therapeutic relationship is key, and these calls can be beneficial in understanding your needs and goals, explaining our therapeutic approaches and interventions, and getting a general vibe of if this is the right space for you to grow! Send a note to eric@bastionhealthworks.com or fill out the contact form and we will be in touch to schedule our call

  • We do accept the following insurance: Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, Oscar, Oxford, BCBS MA (virtual only).

On self-pay: this is your journey and process, and you deserve to have freedom to direct it, which is why self-pay is recommended when feasible. In addition to providing you greater control over the therapeutic process, this route also provides greater privacy around your mental health experience and control over your path forward.

We can also provide Superbills that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. A superbill is a document made for insurance companies that details the services a therapist or health care provider performed for a client. The superbill is submitted to your insurance and your insurer will review the claim and reimburse all, some, or none of the services depending on their assessment.

  • If we are Out-of-Network (OON) and you you are insured and would like to be reimbursed by your insurer, we can provide a superbill.

A superbill is a document made for insurance companies that details the services a therapist or health care provider performed for a client. Superbills fall under the category of out-of-network billing, meaning they detail services received from a provider who is not within your insurance network. Following service, to get your superbills reimbursed, you file an out-of-network claim with your insurer. Your insurer will review the claim and reimburse all, some, or none of the services depending on their assessment

If this would be of interest to you, we can discuss in more detail during our initial consult

  • Therapy provides the safe, private and confidential space for you to engage in deeper discovery and self-exploration. While most everything will stay in the therapy room, there are a few exceptions:

-If you’re in danger to your self or danger to others

-if there is abuse of children dependent, or elderly adults

-current or future crime concerning safety of others

Outside of this, nothing leaves the therapy space!

  • Yep, we ask 24 hour notice for cancellations. If you cancel or no-show (do not attend session at scheduled time) we charge a $50 fee for the first late cancellation/no-show and $100 for subsequent late cancellations/no shows . However, I am human and understand emergencies, unexpected demands, and life circumstances can derail plans, and will also be open to discussing this in more detail should the need arise.

  • Yep, we have both virtual and in-person options available (you can even do a hybrid of both depending on your needs)!

  • Not at this time, however, if the time comes when we feel medication management will be important to treatment then we have a list of referrals at the ready to meet your needs.

  • Another great questions with so many possibilities! However, here are a few to get you started:

-keep an open mind about therapy and the potential to create change in your life

-write down specific topics and issues you want to cover, thoughts you feel cause distress/concern, and ideas you would like to work through

-remember that you deserve the space to explore you challenges, fears, needs and goals (as well as anything else your mind wants to explore)!

  • Probably so many things, but this is the beauty of our connected world: just send us a note or give us a call if you are curious around something not covered here. You deserve to be heard!
